I just had a thought. Since feline equipment gives a character cat-like abilities (e.g. move quickly), how about adding an item that lets the holder sleep without the need for a bed?
It would have to have some conditions or draw-backs to keep it from being too powerful — for example, there couldn't be a monster within a certain number of squares, or it works only indoors, or your attacks and/or defense might be weaker for a certain number of rounds afterwards while you shake off the grogginess — but if there were a way to keep it balanced, it would be a fun addition.

This is an interesting idea, but this requires a massive amount of changes to the game engine as virtually nothing that you mentioned here is supported currently.
