Good idea to start freshly with the next release. There will be a part for lower (maybe mid) levels, which is more fun with a younger character.
Just beware, you can't use the savegames of a beta later in the productive version.

With a Christmas tree
I once created a Christmas version indeed, with the hero wearing a Santa Claus cap.
But I didn't spread it, because there is no calendar available in the game that stops this outfit again after New year.

I agree with CKork. December release includes the x-mas tree. Then in January we remove it and release a new version that also includes bug fixes and translations

Instead of conducting a search, the santa claus (guards) gives us a christmas present of +10 Skill Points available to use immediately!
