I like nyktos' take. The velvety red looks like an old book cover.
@ace reminds me of the cover of Saints Row.

Jax: could be... might have gotten them from Libra Office. That's the only other software I have that uses fonts other than those of Ubuntu.

Ace: I like the grey fire one, but get rid of the whitewash of the logo. :D!

How about a leather texture with that same red color? I like the idea of making it look like the cover of an old book.
