Well I've just this second completed the quest. I have the Blackwater Dagger (which is perfect since I prefer daggers for their low AP costs), but now I wonder: does Blackwater Misery apply to me, or the opponents?
It applies to you, but it does not stack. The Blackwater gear is designed to be used as a set. The poisoned daggers are also quite good if you have both levels of Fighting style: Dual wield. You get a net 40% attack chance, and each dagger has a 50% chance of inflicting weak poison.
Yeah, I'ma gonna sell the dagger. Don't have Dual Wield yet. I have, however been using the same dagger for the past 7 exp. lvls. AC 20%, Crit +5, Crit multiplier 3.0, ed al. I have Flagstone's pride in my inventory, its not a dagger but its got a higher AC and Crit, but lower mutiplier.
If you want to play with daggers there is currently only one that's better then the one you are using, and it will be while before you get it (other than the Quickstrike dagger, anyway, which some argue is the best weapon in the game.)
Dagger of the Shadow Priests - hidden in a dangerous cave north east of Loneford
you might be strong enough to make it through? it's pretty brutal if you try it too early...
level 25-30 should be fine, just depends on how you've built your character.
I just reached level 29 and currently going thru Lights in the Dark, just got the last piece and headed back to Throdna. By the time I head for that cave, I'll be well over level 30. It's the cave in the dried river bed right?
