I have come up with a idea which can enable the night effect without dark tiles or such thing. the concept is that as the time passes by the brightness of the user's machine will be lowered by percentage to real low at midnight and as sun shines the brightness will be raised to users default.. giving the night effect and a time indicator on the top of the drop down menu..and certain quests will be made available like freeing the prisnor in fallhaven.. entering in the closed mine in night in prim etc. and if you take a moment to think about it you will know that its the easiest way to establish a time system in AT. the time Standard can be as 1 hour=6 minutes and 1 day=10 hours. and weeks and months will be followed.
so without using any special tile or program the nights can be added to andors trail giving it s real life like feel.what do you think guys.

Re: days and nights
There's something clever behind your idea, but I refuse to mess with user settings for something like this.
Most users will be wondering why their display has gone mad, or file a bug. I would myself consider such a behavior a bug.
Screen brightness is a very important setting for usability and battery life concerns, and should not be tampered with.
The visual effect shouldn't be that good anyway: the difference between day and night is much more than brightness.

Re: days and nights
Maybe you could do something like the fog of war mechanic . This could be a fade to black near the edges of the screen ,
, or maybe just a tranparency like this
Going with this idea, maybe there could be implemented items that can make the night a little bright , allowing you to see better. The item could be gained in a low level quest, even when going in the rat cave ( cave= darkness?)

Re: days and nights
wow, its bright idea indeed. with this idea the hero can have a certain visibility and a new skill with maximum of 2 skill point allocation to increase the visibility at night can be established. but im afraid if this idea is rejected too!!??OmuNegru wrote:Maybe you could do something like the fog of war mechanic . edit: what if little of my idea and omuNegru's idea are mixed then it really can work.
