a "mini-boss" isn't a regular monster
that way I think it's more of a boss than a regular monster

uhm.. the "bosses" holding the Oegyth crystals are named "Ancient" before the regular bossname, so they're actually bosses (with the higher stats of hp, dmg etc.).

That doesn't necessarily make them bosses, just slightly tougher than the others around it. My guess is they are given a boost from the crystal they are holding.

IMHO, I would call them Oversized or overpowered, not bosses.

My only problem is with the hide it drops. If it were less binding, I might wear it. As is, it's just a treasure item, like the stone cuirass.

Question: Would Hide armor be classified as Light armor?

Hide is just uncured leather. Given the category choices, I'd say yes, same as leather.
