That's how I tried the other day from my phone, and it fails to connect, complaining about SASL. I haven't had a chance to try it on a PC.

It works on my PC, tablet, phone, and my wife's tablet.

I am able to log on from my phone but I have to scroll very far to reach everything and read what's going on.
The text is at the way top
You enter text at the bottom
And the enter button is in the far bottom right corner

It would be pretty annoying to use for a conversation, but not impossible

I log on from a PC all the time and have not had any problems either.

Maybe it my phone or my data speed (2g) but none of it works.for me. I've gotten the unode app that fails to connect and I've gotten andchat and that doesn't work. I've tried everything even registering for a nickname and I never get the email it says it sent. All I have now is Google hangout and I don't know if that even works.
