Dry lake bed area

I've found the north shore of the dry lake bed, but I'm up on a cliff with no way down. Am I in the right neighborhood, or is there another approach to get to the lake bed from another direction?

Also, a few screens to the east of this area there is a field with a path through some trees to what clearly looks like a cave entrance, however nothing happens when I try to enter the cave, and there is no message. Is this just an area that has not been developed yet, or is there a secret to entering this cave?

i have the dry lake bed and got to the last monster but he gave me rotworms so i went back to previous save. i killed the one monster but not the other

IMO it's worth getting and curing rotworms ... lets you finish two quests, which have some rewards

I agree, but I think it's worth gathering the cure components before getting the rotworms.

I agree, but I think it's worth gathering the cure components before getting the rotworms.

That would be a minor advantage, like buying milk before your first trip to a certain place to save a trip back and forth. But if you don't have the list (first time through and didn't look up the spoilers) I'd still suggest getting the worms and then finding the cure, as opposed to baillng out.
