I killed Larcal before I took on the quest to kill him, and now I'm stuck with the Calomyran Secrets book and cant finish the quest

...Weird.. IMO you cannot kill anybody involved in this quest before starting it. I suggest to you, walk around in this town and talk everybody again couble times.

It happened to me too: I found the page at Arcir's house and killed Larcal before talking to the old man.
To solve this problem you need to talk to the old man just north of Arcir's house, talk to Arcir and talk to the okd man again.
