What version of android o.s. are you using? In 4.0 you can swipe across the screen to take a screenshot.

There is an app in the google play store that allows you to take screenshots with little to no premissions I believe, only the necessary ones. However, it only works for certain phones + if your phone is rooted. My phone type wasn't on the list, but it still worked and I love the simplicity. I believe it was called Screenshot UX Trial.
