fast travel / money problem solved

I think that although it does seem "unrealistic" to have magic teleport you, i find it odd that vacor can suck up the whole world with a rift spell but i cant swoop myself to remgard? Again though, its Oscars project, who would we be to start demanding this or that, im just happy hes reading and sometimes using some of our ideas. Yes i want fast travel but im not making my own game just to get it =). Haha

I personally like the idea of paying arghest to ride his minecart somewhere. Maybe back to that cave past flagstone where you can't enter at the moment. But arghest isn't a nice guy.... sends you back to town for 5 milk in exchange for a measly bed, what do you think he'll do this time

Scrolls...prices for them range depending on where they can take you, and can only be bought from the place that you can travel to. Just a thought though for if it is ever considered.

I just dont think fast travel suits this game. It doesnt take much more than 10-12 mins to get from Remgard to the BWM settlement after a certain level. In doing so you could go up a level.

It's not that we are completely against the idea of fast travel, we just haven't heard or come up with an idea that really blows us away and lives up to the standards we are trying to set with the game.
The thing that takes the most time going from one end of the world to the other is all the battles so instead of somehow being transported across the map maybe you can drink a potion that causes monsters X number of levels lower than you to become non-aggressive.
Truth be told I don't even really care for that idea but it's something different, that's not instantaneous transportation by a spell, ship, zeppelin, or whatever.

I just really enjoy the idea of being in remgard and trying to fast travel to bwm and it sends you to loneford or somewhere far south east, it makes using the fast travel a risky move. I think that way players wont solely rely on it to get around. Keep it so fighting your way there is the easiest option but allow you to gamble on the fast travel. I think that no matter what, if fast travel is added, it opens up doors for a "massive quest line" just to obtain the ability, and even then itll be unreliable. Its the best idea i could think of, who knows maybee its enough or maybee the idea can be expanded upon.
Taking the gamble could mean fighting more monsters than if you had just fought your way to you destination to begin with. It just seems right.

Not a fan of Fast Travel, but if it was to added in: I think that once you start your travels from one location to another that you shouldnt instantly appear in the desired location, but instead would have to wait ## minutes before the traveling ends.
## are set by the distance between your starting and ending point, could even have more time added in for more dangerous areas.

Also, have mid to high random chance for battle every x seconds?
Make fast travel more like you're helping a caravan?
And only possible after completing all quests in start and destination areas...

I say leave the chance of battles out, if the player wants to use a caravan to move long distances across the map the player shouldn't be able to benifit from taking the lazy way, walking is good for you.phydeaux wrote:Also, have mid to high random chance for battle every x seconds?
