New here! (check out my first build please!)

Hi all, I've been lurking around every now and then, and finally had the time to sign up for the board. I must say, I absolutely love this game! I like seeing it develop and that we have an input on it's development. I became tired of the way modern RPG's have become, so this is a breath of major fresh air!

Here's my first and only character build:
Name: Tulkas, lvl 79, 206,061 gold, 8,869,217 XP and my current skills are:
Weapon Acc 1
Hard Hit 1 (I plan on getting at least 3 levels in Cleave, as I think that will have a large bearing in the future)
Dodge 1
More Criticals 3
Better Criticals 3 (was thinking of increasing this to 6 so I can get the high level Internal Bleeding & then Fracture, but I put it on the back burner for now because my criticals can one-shot anything other than the trolls and aurulars)
Combat Speed 2
Increased Fort 5 (plus five health every level baby! current health is 255. Again, trying to future proof my character, but I doubt I will put any more points into this skill)
Regen 1 (plan on increasing, but after I get cleave, and then barkskin)
MAgic Finder 2 (I don't plan on putting anymore points here)
Dark Blessing of the Shadow 1

I might get taunt eventually, but I think I will be hard pressed, considering the high level I will need to get to get it.

My Combat Stats:

Attack Cost 3
Attack Chance 236%
Dam 53-54 (using the Dagger of the Shadow Priests & quickstrike dagger when enemies are immune to crits)
Critical Hit Skill 65
Crit Multiplier 5.25
Effective Crit 31%
Block Chance 87% (I haven't put much into this, but am I crazy to notice that the higher level you get, the less they hit you?)
Damage Resistance 3

Gear
Head: Defenders Helm
Body: Villains leather armor
Neck: Jewel of Fallhaven
Shield: Remgard combat shield
Rings: Polished ring of Backstabbing x 2 (no rols yet obviously)
gloves: Troublmaker's gloves
boots: of the Guardian

Items obtained:
SROV x 2
Char x 1 (yep that's it!)

What do you guys think of this build? I keep adding to Damage almost every level, but I might stop about now to start focusing on Att & Block %.

nice critical build
IMO your AC is low, forgot regeneration and take max cleave 2. Evasion 3 is really nice

Yea luckily I got increased fort almost right away, and so my HP will be pretty high. once i get to 60 damage im going to focus kn AC for awhike. Sarumar, were u sayibg to ignore anymore regen, and if so why? Also, whats the grrwt value in getting 3 evasion skills? I planned on ignoring evasion.

Thanks pyrizzle! Interesting that this is also my firsst build. Mayeb it's a first build kinda character? haha what other builds have you guys done, and which builds do you think are most effective and why?

Great question!

TANK MODE: (heavy BC and DR)

BALLANCED: (Even distubution of AC, AD, and BC)

FOREVER MODE: (Heavy HP, Regeneration, and Corpse Eater)

You have high level build, you will not need almoust any healing...in near future In current combat system there are 2 ways when the monsters got first strike:
-If monster moves in to your tile..
-when monster(s) is next to you they will get 15% chance to first strike. Evasion 3 ....

oh thanks for that info! I thought the evasion skill only worked when you were actually attempting to flee! I like how you can increase your first attack chances with the evasion skill. Its fun because I've been leaving a bloody smear of all the monsters so I think my first build character is turnung out qyute powerful. hopefully in the future updates they don't make too many monsters immune to crits.
