What should we do when a character has more leg items, ext items, and skills then can fit in a signature? I spend 3 hours a day travelling to and from the office on the train, so that gives me 15 hours a week to grind for levels (skills) and items.

I wish the 2 hours a day I spent commuting could be done on a train so I could play AT :(

Lol, I think you're pretty much out of luck. There's only so much that will fit in a sig. You just have to decide what gets cut to make room for new stuff.

I was chewing bubblegum and working on the forums and got some on this thread...

It's sticky now. ;)

I've just made my signature "compliant". I can't make use of formatting (such as bold) though, because it results in too many characters :(

A couple of things I noticed:

In the text at the top of the first post you have: Rej:xx and S:WS: xx S:DW: xx S:2H: xx. In the abbreviations guide you have Reg and the abbreviations for fighting styles. (Why Reg rather than just Re?)

You don't have Gold listed, even though it's used on the high score list

You still have CHS, rather than ECC

Interesting... My sig uses 297 characters including spaces and 257 excluding them.

Yours has 208 including and 161 excluding so I'd think you'd have plenty of room to add formatting.

...unless... I seem to remember having that same issue and then one day it just went away. Maybe Sdevaney or one of the mods could answer this: is the number of characters allowed in the signature affected by your post count? ie. post enough and you'll unlock the ability to use larger signatures?

I tried bold on every identifier, including all my skills. That sent me over the limit, but not by much (I don't recall the exact numbers). Maybe I'll try less formatting and/or get rid of the spaces.

It would be nice if the mods could just up the limit for everyone though. :)

the limit has been the same, as long as i can remember...

php boards might not let us use any more characters in our signatures,
but if they could & enough people wanted more - i'm sure Scott would bump it up for us.

I dunno, Pyrizzle has a 318 char sig and that's not even counting all the formatting code. I still think sig char count is limited by either post count or perhaps by age of account although that seems less likely.

Heh, tried re-creating Pyrizzle's sig from scratch and after coloring only the first of two chars I'm already over 1250 characters. Somehow, I think there's more to this whole limited # of chars allowed in signature thing than meets the eye
