Lights in the Dark question

Seems like I refused to help either sides, not really completing either quests the way they should be, now I can't get any new interaction to get access to a deeper chanber in BW, is there any way to start Lights in the dark quest?
Ps.: my other save is 11 lvls lower and I've found a RoLs in this time and don't want to farm for it again.

I have made my way into the inner chamber in the Blackwater mountain settlement and found a group of mages led by a man named Throdna.

But if I remember there was a thread on here that stated yes you can refuse to help both and there is no way to fix it

Yes, you can screw yourself by not siding with one or the other.
I don't remember if there is a way out of this.

Aside from not being able to 'complete' the game, will I loose something else, like some legendary item or something else (that might be worth farming for a RoLS again)?

Yeah I've confirmed that you are pretty much screwed. Sorry we may have to fix this as a lot of people run into this

If you mean a RoL (Rapier of Lifesteal) rather than a RoLS (Ring of Lesser Shadow), then

you can still go down into the Kazaul Shrine and farm imps for the RoL without competing any quests. However, only half of the imps are on the side of the bridge you can reach without talking to Throdna.
There are farming methods for which this is not a huge burden.

The only penalty is that you cannot complete one quest.

As Tomcat notes, you will not be able to cross the bridge on the last map, but that will not stop you from getting a RoL, it will just make it somewhat harder.

Well, if there is nothing inside there that I can't get outside I don't see a reason to lose a ring as good as RoLS and over 11 lvls, thanks guys.
Edit, if that's it, where a lvl 28 should be farming? Not confident enought to clear charwood yet (maybe in 4 lvls).

Yeah. It is not the only way you can lose one quest. My main build will be forever short one quest because I messed up with the sheep
