I just talked to the guard who asked me to get the evidence and I'm trying to make my way back to castle but there's a big rock pile blocking my way. Is there another way back or am I missing something?

So there's a loner dude on top of a mountain who can give you an item to help (but is not necessary) with this quest. But to complete the moutain hermit guy's quest (I think it was called "Rare Delicacy") you need to finish an even harder one! The cheese can't be purchased until solving Charwood. This state of affairs makes no sense.

I ran through this quest twice and chose to side with the steward. Just because I found Lovis' extra reward cheesy.

Anyways, I was lurking around the forums to find a way to escape without killing all the guards. That might have dire consequences too, maybe....

No chance with the guards on the wall. But the other? I tried myself - you'll have to be rather lucky. Maybe you could better escape through the garden gate?
