Filling in some background to areas.

Over the last several days I have been working on laying out the new wiki section with my ideas for organizing. Pending approval, I think most of the sectioning I have layed out will be included in order to not only keep things separate, but to flesh out the areas in as much detail as possible.

The last quest submission brought me to post this thread. Writing a quest is one aspect that people can help with developing for Andor's Trail. Without interfering with the main storyline, they can be adapted to the various areas that they are involved in. This would provide a better "feel" that the quests are tied in with the game, yet completely separate entities all together.

Currently I have divided certain areas under the gameplay section of the new wiki:

Lore - to provide players critical background information for concepts, like The Shadow, Feygard vs Nor City, & Kazaul & Elythara.

World - to provide a general background for various areas in the world of Andor's Trail, like the current descriptions for Feygard & Nor City.

The purpose of this being setup the way I have it is two-fold:

-To provide players a generalized background for areas and concepts in order to provide a much more involved gaming experience.

-To provide quest writers the ability to tie their quest into the world of Andor's Trail, which would make it "feel" as if it belongs there instead of just being thrown in...

Ultimately the dev's have final say over what they put in the game. However, with a bit of initiative additional side quests can become apart of the game in a way that is currently unavailable. Don't get me wrong, I think the new quests being suggested are great, but with some additional information to help flesh them out they can be so much more.

Currently there are 6 areas that have no description written for them. I honestly do not think those areas have been given a lot of thought. However, having them filled out will ultimately provide not only a better gaming experience for players, but also allow people with ideas for quests to tie into the world better. Here's what is empty:

-Blackwater Mountain
-Crossglen
-Fallhaven
-Loneford
-Remgard
-Vilegard

The purpose of this post is to see if anyone would like to write descriptions for various areas currently in the world. Right now I am still only at level 8 (tying up too much time into organizing), so I still have not been able to venture into other areas in order to suggest even a brief description that may or may not be used. Additionally, suggestions for concepts, such as the recent quests tied into the Hunter's Guild, would provide key background information that can be used and added to the new wiki for players and writers.

Filling in areas with as much detail as possible would greatly help in other areas as well, like all NPC's, so that the area for unused NPC's can be filled in. People will be able to have a set list of non-essential, and non-quest-used NPC's that could be used in their ideas. All information really can be used in some way or another (pending dev approval): Population/Guilds available/Political & Religious affiliations/etc...

At any rate, there is my idea for discussion.

I honestly like the fact that Prim\BWM have no description. It makes me think about how it all happened, where the monsters came from and why do they have different monsters instead of the same ones. But that's just me.

Do you have any clue how difficult it was porting over all the additional side quests without actually reading any of it...LOL

Descriptions don't have to be very discriptive, and there can be separate sections for players/developers brought up, in order not to provide too much spoiling for players. It really depends on the scope of the new wiki, and how detailed it is going to be.

Sections of the wiki are going to be accessible by anyone, so players will still get the oportunity to spoil themselves if they wish. However, developers/writers would really benefit from knowing some sort of background in order to tie in things better if they want.
